Great Circle Map

This is an azimuthal-equidistant, or great circle, map of the world centered on the location of the W5KFT Ranch Station. This kind of map is useful for determining the direction of the shortest direct (great circle) route from the center location to anywhere else on the planet. From the W5KFT Ranch Station, Europe is to the northeast (25° to 50°), Japan, Korea, and Indonesia are to the northwest (315°), the Caribbean Sea and South America are to the southeast (125° to 145°) and Australia and New Zealand are to the southwest (225° to 255°). The antipode of the ranch is located in the Indian Ocean, 1658 km (1030 m) west of Perth, Western Australia.
